Perth Airport

Perth is the fourth busiest airport in Australia, visited by nearly 10 million passengers annually. It services flights to many Australian, Asian, Indian Ocean, South African and Middle Eastern destinations. There are two Domestic Terminals, which sit side-by-side, while the Tnternational terminal sits on the opposite side of the runway.

Airlines

Perth Airport is used by 27 scheduled airlines. Key players include: AirAsiaX, Air Mauritius, Air New Zealand, Airnorth, Alliance Airlines, Cathay Pacific, Emirates, Garuda Indonesia, Indonesia AirAsia, Jetstar Airways, Malaysia Airlines, Qantas, Royal Brunei Airlines, Singapore Airlines, Skywest Airlines, South African Airways, Thai Airways International, Tiger Airways & Tiger Airways Australia, Virgin Blue and Pacific Blue.

Flights

Airlines fly from Perth to 59 scheduled destinations. The top ten international routes are to Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Dubai, Bali, Hong Kong, Auckland, Johannesburg, Bangkok, Java and Japan.

The top ten domestic routes are to Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide, Karratha, Broome, Kalgoorlie-Boulder, Newman, Port Hedland and Darwin.

Hotels

The closest hotel to the airport is the Comfort Inn Bel Eyre (www.beleyremotel.com.au) which is 1.6 kilometres west and has a shuttle service to the airport. The Holiday Inn Burswood (www.ichotelsgroup.com/h/d/hi/160/en/hd/purba?&stopredirect=true) is only 6 kilometres away. There are further hotel options as you move towards the Perth CBD.

Parking

Short-Term parking is available at both the International and Domestic Terminals for up to 6 hours in duration. Disabled parking is also available.

Long-Term parking may be found at both the International and Domestic Terminals for those requiring parking for longer than 6 hours.

Lounges

Travellers who are members of the airline lounge schemes can access the following lounges in Perth.

The International Terminal has lounges for Emirates, Malaysia Airlines, Qantas (Captains Club) and Singapore Airlines (Silver Kris Lounge).

For domestic passengers there are lounges operated by Qantas in Terminal 2; while Terminal 3 has lounges for Virgin Blue and Alliance Airlines.

Terminals

The Perth Airport has three terminals – two Domestic and one International terminal. They are located 11 kilometres apart on opposite sides of the runway. Transfers between the Domestic and International Terminals are by bus or taxi.

The Domestic Terminals are approximately 12 kilometres from the Perth CBD while the International Terminal is 17 kilometres from the CBD.

Terminal 1 is the International Terminal with a total of 7 flight gates. It is open 24 hours a day and 7 days per week.

Terminal 2 is for domestic flights and is dedicated to Qantas Airlines and her subsidiaries Jetstar and QantasLink. Selected charter airlines also use the terminal. There are a total of 9 flight gates.

Terminal 3 , formerly the Ansett terminal, is used by a variety of domestic airlines – Skywest, Virgin Blue, Ozjet, Alliance Airlines and Tiger Airways Australia. There are a total of 7 flight gates. Terminals 1 and 3 are wired for Wi-Fi.

Departures

International travellers can shop to their heart’s content at the First Duty Free shop. There are also clothing shops, Vodafone, Travelex, newsagents, music stores etc. where you can while away your time.

Whether for a quick bite to eat, or a leisurely meal, there are plentiful eating options available. Terminal 2 has all the usual amenities – ATM’s, Travelex etc. to make your stay comfortable.

Within Terminal 3 there are several dining options such as Hub Convenience, Dome Cafe, Hudsons Coffee, New Orbit Inn, Fresh Connections and O's Donuts.

Arrivals

Transportation

The airport is easily accessible by car. For the International Terminal, this is via Tonkin Highway and Horrie Miller Drive. For the Domestic Terminal, this is via Great Eastern Highway and Brearley Avenue.

The Domestic Terminal can be accessed by public transport buses operated by Transperth (www.transperth.wa.gov.au) and a number of private charter bus companies which stop at most of the major hotels.

The International Terminal is serviced by private charter bus companies which stop at all the major hotels.

All three terminals have taxi ranks. An A$2 ground transport charge will be added to the tariff (which goes towards improving ground transport infrastructure at the airport). Expect to pay approximately A$30-35 for a single journey into the CBD.
