Review & Analysis
The CitiBusiness credit card provides business owners with high credit limits, a large number of additional cards, a great rewards system and plenty of security.
Frequent Flyer Points
Card holders with this product will earn 1.25 points for every dollar they spend on the card, which is a good rate of points-to-dollars considering some other products on the market for businesses. There is no cap on the amount of points card holders can accrue, and no expiry date on those points either.
You’ll get access to a personalised rewards program, which is “limited only by your imagination”. Essentially, card holders can ask to redeem their points for virtually any products they like, and if it is possible, CitiBank claims it is obtainable. This is a very attractive option, particularly for business owners who may not find a use for airmiles, leisure products or shopping discounts but would prefer to use their points to meet business costs.
Other Rewards
Outside of the personalised reward program, this card provides customers with exclusive tickets to theatre, dance, musicals, sporting events, dinner and travel packages, sightseeing tours and more.
Pros
Balance transfers to a CitiBusiness credit card are at 0% p.a., which is very useful for business owners with existing debt. Credit limits are high, and card holders get up to 55 days interest free.
As well as this, the card comes with free business concierge services around the clock, free international travel insurance, 24 hour customer service, free transit accident insurance, and emergency travel assistance. Business owners will know better than anyone the risks of credit card fraud and theft, and so CitiBank’s offering of Fraudshield, CreditShield Plus insurance, and emergency card replacement will be very attractive.
Cons
The CitiBusiness credit card comes with disadvantages as well as bonuses, as with all things in business. The interest rate on this card is quite high in comparison to other business credit cards on the market, and there is an $74 p.a. annual fee as well as a supplementary fee to pay on top of that.
Eligibility
To be eligible, applicants must be aged 18 or over, and the minimum age for additional card holders is 16. Additionally, card holders must have a minimum annual income of $30,000, and be a permanent Australian resident.
Is This Card Right For You?
Despite reasonably high costs, this card provides worthwhile rewards through its unique points systems as well as many security features and a cheap balance transfer option.
