Cathay Pacific Flights

Cathay Pacific itself flies to 115 destinations across five continents, but its Asian network is particularly well-developed. So, if you regularly fly to Asian destinations such as Bangkok, Singapore and Hong Kong (where this airline has its hub), Cathay Pacific could be the best airline for you to use to get Asia Miles. Having said this, there are so many airline partners with Asia Miles that you can almost guarantee that you will be able to find a flight with one of them to where you want to go and still gain Asia Miles, which is what makes it such a great membership program.

Entitlement

Membership of Asia Miles provides customers with the ability to accrue points in almost every area they make purchases in, which is the main attraction with this program. Aside from this, the program provides members with access to exclusive special offers and discounts. For example, Asia Miles members will be able to purchase cheaper goods at special rates with their miles for selected periods of time. Membership of Asia Miles also gives members access to the Asia Miles iShop, an online shopping portal that allows customers to both earn and redeem points, often for discounted products.

Asia Miles Points

Asia Miles members are able to access the Asia Miles online portal, which includes a very useful points calculator to help work out what points you have earned by purchasing different products. In terms of flights, you earn 1.5 points per mile flown in First Class; you get 1.25 for every mile flown in Business Class; 1.1 points for every mile in Premium Economy Class; and 0.5-1 points per miles flown in Economy Class. So, for a return ticket from Hong Kong to Los Angeles, a member flying in Economy Class would earn 14,496 points. Staying in a partner hotel would earn another 500 points. Partnered hotels include Delta, Fairmont, Harbour Plaza, Hyatt, Hilton and many more, so members have a huge range to choose from. Dining at one of the 200 worldwide restaurant partners, would earn a further 800 points. Other partners can be found in the retail industry, and these include Forbes Asia, Financial Times, Samsonite, Clarins, Rockport, The Economist, and Vogue Laundry. You can also earn points by making purchases on certain credit cards and debit cards, such as American Express, Citibank, ANZ, HSBC, Standard Chartered, and United Overseas Bank.

Points are uncapped and remain valid for three years, but if they are about to expire, they can be renewed for a fee, which may be cheaper than losing the points and paying for a flight outright.

Eligibility

Anyone over the age of two can join Asia Miles, although applicants under the age of 18 will need consent from their parent or legal guardian. There is no membership fee.
